Shooting at Different Angles

This is an old door from an unusual angle.

In this picture the angle of the weather
boards lead your eye to the door.

Weathered & Worn

This is worn & weathered Wednesday

This is traditional Thursday. I've used the old tree
to add interest in the foreground

This is also part of my homework.

In this picture I have used the Landscape Setting
but I have included some foreground interest. I
think I have also incorporated the rule of thirds.

'Close Up' Setting

In these pictures I used the 'Close Up' Setting.

I love the detail that this setting shows in the subjects.

Using Different Camera Settings

Last week I took these 3 pictures using different camera settings so I could compare the changes. I also used Picasa2 to reduce the picture quality & to post them on my Blog.

In this first picture I used the 'Close Up' Setting on the camera. It has shown a lot of definition in the face and the colour is good. The background is blurred so the emphasis is kept on the main subject in the picture. I am happy with this photo & think this setting has produced the best results.

In this picture the camera was set on 'Portrait'. The background is blurred so attention isn't taken from the main subject. Unfortunately the statue is also blurred, probably because I was too close. This setting may have been ok if I hadn't been so close.

I used the 'Landscape' setting in this final picture. As you can see, the background is quite clear but the statue in the foreground is blurred.

Path to the Canteen

We have just compressed a second picture using photoshop. I have chosen to compress my picture to jpeg.low. The number of pixels has been reduced but has not greatly affected the quality of the picture so I am happy with this choice. The picture itself is of the 'heart' of the TAFE. No, it is not the administration services, it is the wonderful canteen!!

Adding my Picture to my Blog

Today we are adding pictures to our blogsites.
Guess What
SUCCESS !!!
